Join our evening Yin Yoga classes every Tuesday and Friday. Break your week, give your mind a rest and improve emotional balance. During our class, the asanas are held for a duration of 3-10 minutes. We follow the three principles of Yin Yoga to quiet the mind and create space to let go. Yin Yoga takes Classical Hatha Yoga elements, specifically where we hold the poses from 3 to 10 minutes. We don't usually follow peak pose in Yin Yoga. Instead, sequences typically use the Merdian theory to target specific meridian lines by creating tension or compression across these lines. The yin poses aim to increase chi (or qi) flow through the different meridians or channels in the body. When we hold a pose for a longer period, we bring the stretch to the Yin tissues, the deeper body tissues such as the tendons, fascia, ligaments, and other connective tissues. Our yin tissues are less vascular (supplied with blood) and less elastic and therefore need more time to stretch. When stretched regularly, it increases the overall flexibility, circulation, and range of motion in the joints and ligaments.
